Workplace Essential Skills uses videos, print, and the Internet to help you brush up on your reading, writing, math, and job skills. There are 24 half-hour programs, four workbooks, and 24 FREE online lessons. They work together to make learning easier. If you register and create a home space now, you can save your work in your own online portfolio. And, you can work online with a teacher! Use Workplace Essential Skills to help you find a new job, train for a better job, or be more successful on the job you already have. The lessons are written at a pre-GED level. They will help build your critical thinking and problem solving skills. Developing these skills will also help you prepare for the GED tests.The video programs are the foundation of Workplace Essential Skills. Each half-hour video presents documentary footage of people working in a wide variety of jobs, using basic skills on the job; real-life interviews with job seekers, employers and employees. Learners see what real employers are looking for in new hires and how to fit in and thrive in a new job.Four student workbooks expand upon the Workplace Essential Skills programs. Each workbook begins with a skills preview pre-test and evaluation chart to help students determine their strengths and weaknesses before they begin. "After You Watch" sections contain instruction, enrichment activities, and practice exercises. Both pre-and post-tests are followed by answer keys. Each workbook closes with a glossary, an index, and a reference manual containing explanations, formulas, document templates, and other useful items.
